After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Tulane University, Tory served in the US Peace Corps in western Kenya working as a health educator. She then worked at the Touch Foundation, helping to expand health education opportunities for doctors, nurses, and medical workers in Tanzania. This experience compelled her to pursue her Master’s Degree in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Tory then returned to the Touch Foundation to further their efforts in Tanzania for nearly three years, during which time she developed a deep love of East Africa and an appreciation for other cultures and international travel.
After a successful career in Public Health, Tory chose to fulfill a long-held ambition of working directly with people as a nurse. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the Yale School of Nursing and launched her nursing career in Detroit in the field of oncology.
Tory is driven by a deep belief in health equity and health access for all, and is thrilled to be a part of the HELP team at Corktown Health Center. In her spare time, Tory likes to travel, practice yoga, explore Detroit by bike, and spend time with her family and friends.
