POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Program Manager is responsible for supporting the Program Manager with all program management activities. Responsibilities include: implementing policies and procedures; being an enthusiastic role model and promoting a respectful team environment; training and mentoring team members; assisting with implementing, monitoring and advancing quality and performance outcomes; ensuring compliance with relevant standards of care, laws and regulations. The Care Management Program Associate Manager may provide direct care/case management client services as determined by program/staff needs and to maintain familiarity with service delivery.
SALARY RANGE & BENEFITS
- $40,000 – $60,000 based on assigned program areas and related degree/licensure requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Promotes the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives within assigned area. Assists the Program Manager with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
- Assists the Program Manager in training new staff / interns. Identifies training and development opportunities that will assist case managers in achieving enhanced performance.
- Understands as well as communicates and models the core values of the organization to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees.
- Engages case managers and provides coaching and mentorship to fulfill job responsibilities and build skills.
- Assists the Program Manager in guiding employees through performance management processes.
- Assists the Program Manager to ensure that funder requirements are met including service goals and performance measures. Aids in implementing quality/performance improvement efforts.
- Assists with site visit preparation and audit processes in assigned area.
- Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities. Such activities include, but are not limited to chart review, report creation and data analysis.
- Manage and coordinate a variety of special projects and administrative activities involved in planning, analysis, and the development of programs and services.
- Supports the organization by completing administrative duties including but not limited to chairing committees, drafting memos to the department, drafting policies for the department/organization, facilitating meetings, assisting with timesheet submissions and employee assignments and scheduling, etc.
- Represents the agency at community meetings and venues. Participates in outreach activities to promote services and education in the community.
- Collaborates internally and externally to maintain effective relationships.
- Provides management coverage and oversight to team members in Program Manager’s absence.
- Facilitates patients’/clients’ access to medical care, behavioral health, support services, insurance coverage, benefits and other resources within assigned program areas, across the organization and through community resources.
- Responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and complete documentation at the patient/client and aggregate levels in systems and formats required for assigned program areas.
- Responsible for drafting and submitting financial reports for the department.
- Models effective customer service and problem solving techniques; upholds a professional environment that promotes teamwork, excellence and respect for patients/clients, their families, coworkers, colleagues and others.
- Upholds compliance efforts. Ensures confidentiality and privacy practices in accordance with agency policies, HIPAA and relevant laws, regulations and contractual obligations.
- Participates in staff meetings, program and department meetings, staff development trainings, and case conference meetings.
- Opens and closes various service buildings, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree in social work or related field preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required. Case Management certification required.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in social services, health care, public health or a related field.
- Marketplace insurance: 2 years (Preferred).
- Understanding of copay, co-insurance, and deductibles with commercial insurance is helpful.
- Understanding qualifications of Medicaid and Disability is helpful.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent time management, project management, organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills.
All applicants are required to provide proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an FDA- or WHO-authorized vaccine prior to their start date. Corktown Health also requires annual influenza vaccination. Any exception requested for medical or religious reasons must be documented in writing.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may supervise interns or staff in the absence of the program manager.
TRAVEL
This position may require local travel as well as limited in-state and out of state travel. You must be able to provide proof of having a current, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
- SCHEDULE & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is in-person, full time, predominantly during business hours Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours. The position is based at the organization’s main location in Detroit with periodic off site meetings and events. Work is generally performed within the office environment and includes significant in person, phone and email contact with staff, patients/clients, funders and the general public. This position reports to the Care Management Program Manager.
