Client Service Specialist, Food & Nutrition Services

Hours: Full Time, in person, 40 hours per week; hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly

General Summary: Provides client services within the food and nutrition program. Performs client intakes, reviews documents and assesses eligibility based on established policies and procedures. Distributes food vouchers and nutritional supplements. Schedules client appointments. Responsible for documentation, data entry, confidentiality and integrity of agency information regarding the program. Interacts with the Department of Health & Human Services or other providers as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to multi-task.
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as the ability to professionally interact with individuals from diverse populations and accommodate social and cultural differences.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook applications.
  • The ability to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds for distribution of nutritional supplements.
  • Must pay close attention to detail and have excellent data entry skills.
  • All applicants are required to provide proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with an FDA- or WHO-authorized vaccine prior to their start date.
  • Corktown Health also requires annual influenza vaccination. Any exception requested for medical or religious reasons must be documented in writing.

Required Experience: · High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) with two years experience working as a direct service provider.  Community Health Worker (CHW) certification preferred. Knowledge of working with the LGBTQ+ community is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct reports.
