Corktown Health is recruiting for an exceptional Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Detroit-based team. The NP will provide adult primary care for a diverse population with a focus on LGBTQ+ identified patients. The NP will also provide HIV Treatment, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP); sexual health care including STI testing & treatment; and manage hormone therapy for transgender patients.

Corktown Health is Michigan’s first nonprofit medical home dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the LGBTQ+ community. The professional in this role should embrace our mission and be familiar with the health issues faced by persons who are LGBTQ+. The NP is expected to demonstrate creative problem solving skills, excellent clinical judgement and the ability to balance independence with effective collaboration with the Medical Director and other providers. The NP will interact with a multidisciplinary team including behavioral health, nutrition and social work.


  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree required.
  • Active Michigan Nurse Practitioner License and current DEA registration required. Board certification preferred.
  • HIV specialist certification/credential preferred.
  • Three years of relevant clinical experience preferably providing care to LGBTQ+ persons, HIV positive patients and those with a history of trauma, addiction and/or mental health needs.
  • Applicants should support a culture of learning and be comfortable discussing matters of sexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity in an affirming manner.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.


  • $100,000- $120,000 annual salary range
  • Benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, vision, dental, disability and life insurance after 60 days.


This position is full time, predominantly during business hours Monday through Friday and may require occasional evening or weekend hours. Work is generally performed within a clinic/office environment and includes in-person medical care and telehealth.
