Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, services are free for eligible clients/patients.

The Tobacco Cessation program provide a consultation to discuss services and treatment options for current smokers. Ongoing service enrollment is available for individuals after screening for eligibility (details above). Please ask our specialists for more information.

Based upon availability, participants in the program are eligible to receive a small incentives such as a quit kit with tools, tips, and ideas to help manage stress or cravings when quitting tobacco.
The tobacco cessation program staff do not provide Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products. However, the team may work with you to provide or refer you to a medical provider who can facilitate access to over the counter or prescription NRT products. The team may also provide resources to help cover the costs of NRT products.
When used properly, Nicotine Replacement Therapy can help double a smoker’s success in quitting for good. Combining NRT with tobacco cessation counseling may further increase the success rate of quitting tobacco. If you have tried using Nicotine Replacement Therapy before, you can still try again using another method. Everyone is different and responds to different strategies. It may take some time to figure out what works best for you.
Many private insurance plans offer coverage for NRT products without a copay requirement. There are also state funded programs you may be eligible for to get assistance. If you do not have insurance or would like assistance determining if your plan covers NRT, you can call the tobacco cessation program team for more information or resources.
